2 - Reflect
I recently resumed my routine of going to the gym and I have seen how the body quickly gets used to physical exercise. There I see on a daily basis not only how people who have been exercising for a long time are influenced by the improvement in their mood, but also how - in some cases - this leads them to the extreme of making a cult of the physical. It is in those moments where I wonder about the importance of the spirit compared to that of the body. So how much do we devote to our spiritual health, what level of importance do we really give to it?
The key is to recognize the need to exercise our spirit as much as our physical but, again, difficulties arise in recognizing this. We must be alert to certain signs such as negative feelings that begin to surface, such as envy and pride.
It is in those moments when the spirit is crying out for some help, and it is in those moments that the presence of God's word becomes imperative. Let us remember that through his different teachings, the Lord shows us the way to follow, illustrating everything with wonderful examples of his unconditional love, which causes the lessons we learn to be impregnated in our hearts in the best possible way.
When we recognize our spiritual needs and find that we are weak based on them, we can find the nourishment that restores us in the Word of God.
