The basics of caring for your health

I held onto emotions and anxieties permanently and I did not verbalize them, the result of that had been recurring tonsillitis that never fully went away. My body no longer tolerated the silence, and each time it was more difficult to deal with medication and I kept looking worse. It was no longer just a few days in bed but I also had fever and even hallucinations. In one of my rambling thoughts I thought I saw my father who had recently died. He told me in the dream to take care of my body because it was the only one that God had given me and that my negative emotions were harming it. Thanks to this episode I began to value not only my body but also my mind. I renewed the problems and discussions I had with worldly issues and began to focus on my welfare.
Respecting our bodies and taking care of them is not only about a good diet, a good rest, or physical exercise. To really take care of it is to remain open to positive emotions but also to negative ones and to focus on the personal growth that the experience will leave us. Avoiding saying that something or someone angers us, not asking for forgiveness when we are wrong, or not being in touch with our own faith are things that make our body and spirit sick.
