A Divine Message to Read

Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

2 - Reflect
Last night I asked my eldest son, whom I could see was upset, what was the cause of his excessive anger. He told me that he was waiting for an answer about an important matter, but no matter how long he waited, the answer never came.

Consoling him, I told him to be patient, that the answer would come, to which he replied that it had already been five minutes since he sent the query. I could not help but meditate on how technology and modern times affect us almost without us realizing it.

This has caused in us a kind of rush, tension and need for quick response that many times we can transfer to our faith. At times, we may have the perception that the Lord has abandoned us, because we feel that he does not respond immediately to our prayers.

However, one of the things that moves the Lord's transformation in us to gain a growing faith is the cultivation of patience. God's word exhorts us not to be frustrated by the apparent delay of his answer. We must not overlook that the Lord desires to develop in us perseverance and with it the faith necessary to follow him and serve him with gratitude and faithfulness.
