The good pastor

“I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep.”
John 10:14-15

Jesus knows His sheep, this declaration is like a balm to our lives. "How is the process of conversion of a soul to Christ? Choosing to receive Him. But Jesus has chosen us before that. He already knew each person who would respond to His invitation and knew each one who would decide to receive it, but who, due to the opposition of popular influences, would turn away from Him. John says to all: "Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." Those who heard His voice and contemplated Jesus as the Lamb of God, the most sublime manifestation of God to humanity, believed in Him and became His property by their own choice. But ... Their choice of Jesus was in response to His invitation.

The love of Christ was expressed to us before we loved Him. The entire human family has been entrusted to Jesus, just as a flock of sheep is entrusted to the shepherd. Those sheep and lambs must receive pastoral care and that is thought out even before the creation of the world. We will be saved by our faithful Supreme Shepherd. And if we obey the voice of the Supreme Shepherd, we will not be left to be devoured by the wolves. Jesus says: "My sheep hear my voice and follow me." The Shepherd of Israel does not drive His cattle but guides them. The beautiful illustration of Revelation chapter 7 is a pastoral symbol. "They will no longer hunger or thirst, and the sun will fall no more on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them, and will guide them to fountains of waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
