Today I was talking to a co-worker about the personnel selection process that some companies have in place. It is a method that, although it has been around for some years now, is part of the modern human resources.
One of the points is to ask the interviewee about his or her defects and virtues, and it is customary to pass off virtues as defects, obtaining empathy from the employer.
But outside this area, the reality is different: I notice a certain tendency to highlight the defects and make this situation a fertile ground for the growth of negative feelings such as depression, competitiveness and stress.
Let us remember then the unconditional love of God for us, the infinite source of compassion that does not judge us by our defects or virtues and that, if defects abound over virtues, the Most Holy One sees there a sheep asking for help and his love will be even stronger. The Lord wraps us with his mantle of mercy and sees only our potential, and from then on he draws the objectives that will form us as good men.
So let us not overlook the call of Jesus and seek Him if in the midst of the storm we feel that our life has lost its course.
He will bring back calm and peace, he will restore our strength to continue and we will no longer be the same, because we will have been touched by his love to find our way again.
