Divine Creation on Earth

Israel was a spreading vine; he brought forth fruit for himself. As his fruit increased, he built more altars; as his land prospered, he adorned his sacred stones.

2 - Reflect
On an absolutely familiar Sunday we were preparing, as a ceremony, to plant a tree in the garden of our house. I must admit that it was not an easy task because, unlike what I had previously believed, planting a tree does not only involve physical strength when it comes to digging the hole in the ground, but it also requires a previous preparation that I had not contemplated at first.

Choosing the right place and trying to visualize the future tree in its maximum splendor are important aspects in terms of shadows and other nearby plants that also need light. And a separate issue is the plowing of the soil in the well, so that the roots can penetrate more easily.

In the same way, we, as children of Christ, also need to prepare ourselves spiritually so that, like the propitious soil when planting a tree, God plants his seed of love in us.

But it is also vitally important that our spirit be conducive for that seed to grow and not wither. Let us seek in our responses the way for the word of the Lord in our hearts to bear fruit in abundance. May his seed become a flower, and may we be the fertile soil in which his love and mercy will grow.
