Personal and Eternal Commitment
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

Once, when my son was a toddler, I set out to teach him things not by telling him in words, but by example. At that time I was amazed at the speed with which he learned, the effectiveness of teaching by example.
In other cases, students understand better if they are shown how a job is done; children tend to be calmer and calmer if they observe their parents acting and treating others with the same calmness and tranquility.
