2 - Reflect
Just a few hours ago, I witnessed how a man, from his car, laughed at an obese person crossing the street, and that left me thinking that many times, a negative comment or a malicious word directed against us, can have two effects in our life: demotivate us and appease our energies to achieve the goal, or give us more strength to continue and achieve what those, in their attempt to diminish our conviction, thought we could not.
It is important to keep in mind that God wants us to trust in Him by expressing through prayer our purest and most sincere faith in His power and care. A lying and discouraging attack based on discouragement may sometimes have a hint of truth, but it can never silence a greater and invincible truth: God is always present and has promised to always do so, until the end.
Let us remember, then, that demoralizing situations seek a negative response from us in order to deplete our energy. However, if we focus on God's response, God's encouragement, God's promises, we will have no chance of failure, for we will walk confident that the Lord, just as He has promised, will never abandon us.
