Who brings us disease
“Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven.”
James 5:14-15

Physical ailments are very annoying and can make us really annoyed. When it comes to sore throats, stomach aches or back pains, as well as aches in other parts of the body, we may not be paying attention to any situation we are going through. Many times when we carry heavy loads that do not belong to us, or when we shut up about our discomfort and lock ourselves up in our thoughts, this can be manifested physically, and also psychically.
It is at that moment when our sick body is likely wanting to teach us that we should take much better care of ourselves. To have time to pray, to be in communion with our brothers, to learn about the divine path, and the grace of the Lord. Therefore, in case we should rest a few days to recover, it is always better to do it in the company of God the Father. Reflecting on the reasons why our body needs a break or requires extra care. We must understand that we are not invincible and that taking care of our health is essential to keeping us healthy and continuing our vocation as Christians. Asking for help from others when we are ill will transform us into more vulnerable beings willing to receive love and care.
